Introduction
Hello! This blog is dedicated to the NBA and its evolution, I am a big fan of basketball and this league has a very interesting history both on the sports and social side. Of course everyone knows at least by name the huge stars like Michael Jordan or Lebron James but I find it interesting to know what influences these players had on a sport, who were the main actors of changes that made the league change... I hope you enjoy reading my blog, thanks in advance!
Before we start talking about the league we will see how basketball was created
In the winter of 1891, James Naismith, a sports teacher at Springfield College in Massachusetts, couldn't teach because of the snowstorms outside and the students were getting tired of being cooped up. To find a way to calm them down Naismith nails two peach baskets to each end of the gym and divides the boys into two teams of nine, explaining that the goal is to put the ball (a football at the time) into the baskets. The first game of basketball, although more like rugby in that the rules were vague and the players fought, started at the university, Naismith set up 13 fundamental rules which were later added to and used mainly to avoid fights. It is necessary to know that if the boys adore this sport and, the girls also become quickly adept which changes their usual gymnastic activities, it is also for that that the discipline knows a fast development through the universities and that various professional leagues are born as well as various teams such as Celtics (1914) or Harlem Globe Trotters (1926), the first Afro-American team which, context obliges, will be excluded from various leagues for this reason.
